Who Are We?
Paw Prints Dog Grooming is a family owned business with over forty years experience in the canine industry, in particular relating to dog grooming, showing of dogs, nutrition and breeding. We provide the opportunity for you to have your dog professionally groomed by experienced groomers. We have recognized qualifications in the areas of Principles of Canine Behavior, Canine Health & Husbandry and Canine Nutrition.
We are fully equipped with all essential grooming equipment and we will have your dog feeling and looking as fabulous!!
Our Kennels “Oakway German Shepherds” have bred over sixteen “Best In Show Winners” under national and international Judges [including German, Australian, Australian, Swedish, Finnish and English Judges] and we continue to enjoy showing our New Zealand bred dogs nationally and internationally, and with great success.
Affiliation
We are proud to be a member of National Dog Groomers Association New Zealand [NDGANZ], an Association which sets standards on how dogs are to be groomed and cared for. NDGANZ gives registered groomers up to date guidelines for New Zealand Kennel Club recognized breeds. We regularly attend NDGANZ seminars and workshops. Attending these give us opportunity to receive on-going training, invaluable information, ongoing skills and networking opportunities with caring like minded dog care professionals.
What does a Paw Prints Dog Grooming experience involve?
Meet and Greet – We attend with you to understand what you desire for your self and your dog. We listen! We ask the questions to assist us to understand what it is you need us to deliver. We offer advice if you require it. Do please remember and understand however that we are not a Veterinary service, and at times we may remind you of this if your questions lead us in this direction.
Hydro-bath – We have a mobile hydro-bath service [hot, warm and cold if desired] which allows for a wash and rinse cycle, leaving your dog sparking clean. This may be beneficial for skin allergies.
Clip or Strip and Styling your dog – We are guided by what you desire – and / or are able to offer our professional expertise in accordance with NDGANZ guidelines .
Blow Dry – If and as required or allowed by your dog – great for skin conditions.
Ear Clean / Pluck – Some breeds are more susceptible to hair in the ear canal and may benefit from having this work completed, keeping the hygiene of the ear at its optimal level.
Toe Nail Clip – Trimming the nails to ensure comfort of your dog, and, your self!
Anal Glands – Releasing the glands which otherwise may become blocked, odorous and painful for your dog.
Our Products
We carry a number of different shampoos and conditioners which may allow your dog’s skin and coat to look, feel and smell the very best it can.
